Jed Weeks Education: B.M.Ed.

Background: Jed Weeks is in his second year as the Band Director at Colleyville Heritage High School in Grapevine Colleyville ISD. Under his direction the CHHS Marching Band achieved unprecedented success in the 2004-2005 competition season, bringing home First Place honors at the prestigious Carrollton Tournament of Champions as well as the caption awards for Best Marching Band, Best Overall Affects and Best Percussion. Prior to his appointment to CHHS, Mr. Weeks was the associate director of bands at Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas for five years. He has also been associate director of bands at Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas (1998-1999), and Clements High School in Sugarland, Texas (1995-1998). He also served as a substitute for the Houston Symphony Orchestra on Trombone from 1995-1998. Mr. Weeks was on the brass staff for the Santa Clara Vanguard from 1996-2003, serving as the brass caption head 2002-2003. He was also a member of the Cavaliers brass staff in 1994, and the Sky Ryders in 1991. Mr. Weeks continues to be an active clinician, judge, and visual designer for bands across the United States. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He enjoys home improvement and remodeling as well as golf, and currently resides in Ft. Worth, Texas with his wife Mary and son Cameron. |

Jennifer Vowles Education: Northern |

Background: Jennifer Vowles is in her fourth year as a Band Director at Colleyville Heritage High School in Grapevine Colleyville ISD. Under her direction, the CHHS Band has enjoyed nationally acclaimed honors such as marching in the 2003 Macys Day Parade, the only high school band selected to represent the state of Texas. Prior to her appointment to CHHS, Ms. Vowles was the associate director of bands at Bridgeport High School and Middle School in Bridgeport, Texas. She has also been Band Director at Carbondale Community High School in Carbondale, Illinois. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, and traveling with her family. |

Background: Jeff Ausdemore is in his second year as the Band Director / Percussion at Colleyville Heritage High School in Grapevine Colleyville ISD. Under his direction, the 2004 CHHS Percussion Group (http://www.chhspantherband.org/percussion/index.htm) brought home unprecedented awards such as First Place honors and Outstanding Tenor Line at the 2004 Plano Drum Line Competition, Best Percussion Award at the 2004 Carrollton Tournament of Champions, Outstanding Percussion Award at the 2004 Birdville Tournament of Champions, and Most Creative Drum Line show at the 2004 Lone Star Class Drum Line Competition. In January, 2005, Mr. Ausdemore launched the GCISD Percussion Club (http://www.chhspantherband.org/percussion/gcisd_percussion_club.htm), expanding and enriching the lives of over 80 participating GCISD middle and high school percussion students. Prior to his appointment to CHHS, Mr. Ausdemore was adjunct professor of percussion at the University of Texas at Arlington where he served as director of marching percussion and taught percussion methods. Mr. Ausdemore's professional background includes section and solo performances with many orchestras, wind ensembles, and percussion ensembles throughout the midwest and southwest United States. In addition to performing, he has instructed and consulted with many college and high school marching bands and Drum Corps International drum and bugle corps, including the Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment, Blue Knights, Southwind, Northern Aurora and Limited Edition. He participated in many recordings while living in Nashville. And, he has given performances at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (Columbus, Ohio 2002), and the International Horn Society Convention (Beijing, China 2000). In addition to his teaching duties with CHHS, Mr. Ausdemore serves as music director/composer for Insignia Percussion Ensemble. Insignia Percussion is the newest Winter Guard International Percussion Ensemble in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, winning the 2004 NTCA gold medal in their inaugural season. |
